Match Preview

Canada enjoyed an excellent run to the final of the previous edition of the CONCACAF Nations League, but they will be looking to go one better in the tournament this year. They were assured of a place in this stage before the tournament kicked off, while the winners of the Nations League this year will be assured of a place in the Copa America in 2024.

Canada will be looking to get back on track, as they have won just once in their previous six international matches. Their only win over that period was a 4-2 success against Cuba in the summer. They have played just once since the end of the Gold Cup, as they fell to a 4-1 loss against Japan last month.

Jamaica were in excellent form in the opening stage of the CONCACAF Nations League, as they topped the Group B standings after winning three of their four matches. They scored an impressive ten goals, but they will need to be stronger defensively after allowing five goals in the opening section.

Jamaica are unbeaten in five matches since falling to a 3-0 defeat in the semi-finals of the Gold Cup against Mexico in July. However, they were below their best in their most recent international, as they played out a 0-0 draw against Guatemala over the weekend.

Jamaica vs Canada Prediction

Given the recent form of both of these sides, we expect this to be a close match on Friday. However, the narrow preference is for the hosts to pick up a huge home win to set up a thrilling second leg next week.
