Liverpool will come into this second leg against Fulham holding all the cards after turning the tables on the Cottagers in the first meeting between the sides at Anfield. For a long time, the Reds looked set to suffer a 1-0 home loss in the opening leg, but they were able to turn the game on its head within the space of three second half minutes.
Fulham opened the scoring after just 19 minutes after Willian fired home. They should have extended that advantage just minutes before Liverpool leveled the scores, but Bobby De Cordova-Reid ignored a teammate in a better position. Marco Silva’s side were made to regret that missed opportunity, as Curtis Jones equalized in the 68th minute.

Liverpool pressed home their advantage just three minutes later when Cody Gakpo fired home the winning goal. They could have extended the advantage even further in the closing stages, but Fulham deserve to still be in this tie after an expansive display at Anfield.
The Reds will be looking to reach a second final in three seasons this term after winning the competition in 2021-22. Meanwhile, Fulham will be looking to reach the final of the EFL Cup for the first time in their history. But, they will need to make a quick start in this home leg against the Reds.
