Match Preview
Portugal will be chasing a second EURO success this summer, and despite going under the radar throughout qualification, they are now attracting a lot of attention as potential winners this summer. Roberto Martinez has overseen an excellent start with the national side, winning all ten of their qualifying matches for the first time.
Not only that, but Portugal netted 36 times across those matches, conceding twice. Both of these stats illustrate their best figures in EURO qualifying history. Portugal’s experience could be vitally important as the tournament progresses, with Cristiano Ronaldo likely to once again led his nation from the front, with Bruno Fernandes, Joao Felix, and Bernardo Silva playing in behind.

Czechia could present Portugal with their biggest test in the group stage this summer, with Ivan Hasek’s side boasting a wealth of experience across the field. The nation exceeded expectations at the previous edition of the EUROs by reaching the quarterfinal stage, while they have managed to navigate the group phase in four of their previous seven appearances since 1996.
Czechia showed how challenging they be to beat during qualifying after losing just once in eight matches. However, questions surrounding their chances this summer will revolve around their attacking quality, as they netted just 12 goals during the qualifying phase.

I like Portugal’s chances of winning the tournament this summer, and I’m excited to see them take to the field for the first time in Germany. I could see them running out as easy winners in this match by at least a two-goal advantage.
