Match Preview
Two great soccer rivals will collide in the quarterfinal stage of the EUROs this Friday, with Spain and Germany colliding in the competition for the fourth time. Spain holds the narrow advantage after winning on two previous occasions, which includes the 1-0 win that they achieved in the 2008 final following Fernando Torres’s effort.
The previous meeting between the nations came back in 2022 at the World Cup, with Spain and Germany playing out a 1-1 draw. Spain are unbeaten in their last four major tournament matches against Germany, with these matches seeing six goals being scored overall.

The trends will certainly give Germany a leading chance this week, as no host nation has ever been eliminated in the quarterfinal stage. However, two of the last three have needed a penalty shootout to secure their spot in the last four. Germany will make further history this week, as they will be playing in their 19th quarterfinal in a major tournament.
Most alarmingly for Spain, they have progressed from 15 of their last 18 quarterfinals, striking at a prolific rate of 83%. But, Spain has been the standout nation at this summer’s EUROs, and they are the only remaining team still sporting a 100% record after four matches in the tournament.
Spain vs Germany Prediction
This is a huge clash at the EUROs, and it could go either way. However, the narrow preference is for the impressive Spain to maintain their reliable campaign in Germany by securing a 3-1 success in Stuttgart.
