Match Preview

Exciting action in EURO qualification comes from Amsterdam on Friday, as the Netherlands look to keep alive their hopes of topping Group A when they compete against France. The Dutch will need victory in front of their home fans to remain in contention of topping the standings, while a defeat could see them drop to third in the table.

Holland have been strong since an opening night defeat against France, as they have landed victories in each of their last three internationals in qualification. Their most recent win was a fine 2-1 success against Ireland in Dublin, as the Netherlands came back from a goal down to seal maximum points.

The Group B advantage is firmly with France ahead of their final three qualifiers. France sit top of the standings, and they hold a six-point advantage over the Netherlands. However, they have played a game more than their rivals at this stage. But, a victory this week would secure their passage through to the EUROs next summer.

France have been perfect throughout qualification, as they have landed victories in all five of their matches. They have scored an impressive eleven goals, and they have failed to concede to this point. However, a response will be expected this week after the former world champions were beaten in an international friendly by Germany last month.

Netherlands vs France Prediction

France have won six of their last seven internationals against the Netherlands, which includes a 4-0 win in March. However, they were beaten 2-0 on their latest visit to Amsterdam in November 2018. Therefore, a chance could be taken on the draw this week.
