Match Preview
Tottenham have hit some form over the last seven days after recording wins over Coventry City and Brentford. However, their attention will switch to European matters on Thursday. Spurs have won both previous meetings against Qarabag, with both coming in the group stage of the Europa League season in 2015-16.
Azerbaijan’s Qarabag have lost on all six occasions in which they have come up against English opposition in European competitions, which includes defeats against Chelsea and Arsenal as well as against Spurs. But, confidence should be high after reaching the round of 16 last term, which was their best ever showing in a European competition.

Much of their success was due to the impressive performances of Juninho. The influential star was involved in five goals in six appearances last term. That included goals in both legs of a round of 16 tie against Bayer Leverkusen. His influence on the side will be integral to their chances this week.
Tottenham’s record in the Europa League could be the decisive factor to consider this week. Spurs have lost just once in their last eight matches in the competition. But, that defeat was suffered in their most recent outing against Dinamo Zagreb in March 2021.
Tottenham vs. Qarabag Picks
Qarabag’s record against English opposition is very challenging to overlook this week. For that reason, we will be siding with Tottenham kicking off their Europa League campaign with a dominant home success against their rivals on Thursday.
