Event Preview

The final of the 2025 FA Cup will be set over the coming weekend, as the two crucial semi-finals will be staged at Wembley Stadium.

Crystal Palace will be playing at this stage of the competition for the sixth time, and they have progressed from two of their last five semi-finals. However, they were beaten at this stage on their most recent appearance in 2022.

Aston Villa will be playing in the semi-finals for the first time since beating Liverpool in 2014-15. The Villa have reached eleven previous FA Cup finals, making them one of just seven teams to reach that tally.

Aston Villa have failed to win in their last four matches against Crystal Palace. The Eagles have won three times across that period, and they have scored a very impressive 13 goals. Palace also eliminated Villa from EFL Cup contention earlier this season.

However, Villa have won each of the three previous ties between the sides in the FA Cup. The latest meeting between the English sides came in the fifth round in 2009-10, with Villa winning 3-1 in the replay.

But, Villa’s poor record at Wembley should be considered this weekend. The West Midlands side have lost six of their eight matches at the national stadium, with this being their first visit since losing against Man City in the EFL Cup final in 2020.

Crystal Palace vs. Aston Villa Picks

This will be a fascinating showdown between two sides that have been in excellent form throughout the second half of the season. However, Villa’s progression under Emery should see them perfectly tailored for this high-pressure occasion.
