Event Preview
Fulham will be playing in the quarterfinals of the FA Cup for the second time in three seasons. The Cottagers are enjoying an excellent campaign under Marco Silva this term, and they could yet achieve European qualification based on their league position in the Premier League.
However, Fulham’s success in the FA Cup has been limited. They haven’t reached the semi-finals since 2001-02, and they haven’t reached a final since 1974-75. But, huge confidence will be gained from their performances in the tournament to this point.
Fulham’s place in this stage of the competition was assured following an excellent penalty shootout success against Man United at Old Trafford earlier this month. In the previous rounds, the Cottagers eliminated Watford and Wigan Athletic.

Crystal Palace have a better recent FA Cup record than their London rivals, having reached the semi-final stage in 2021-22. The Eagles have also made the final on two previous occasions, with their most recent Wembley appearance ending in defeat against Man United in 2015-16.
Palace have been very professional in the previous rounds of the FA Cup this season, beating EFL opponents in each of their three matches. In the previous round, they made their dominance count, recording a 3-1 home success against Millwall.
The Eagles recorded a 2-0 win in the last clash between these sides in February, with that win ending a six-game winless sequence against the Cottagers. However, draws have been a common outcome when these sides have collided, with three of the last four ending level.

Cases can be made for both teams in this FA Cup quarterfinal. However, the narrow preference is for Palace. The Eagles have rediscovered their form in the second half of the season, and their comfortable win over the Cottagers last month should give them the edge.
