Match Preview

Man City will once again come into a round of matches with questions being asked. Pep Guardiola’s side fell apart at Arsenal last weekend, conceding five at the Emirates. Things were looking up before that display after well-earned home wins over Chelsea and Club Brugge. Despite defensive issues, City will be a very hard favorite to overlook this weekend.

Leyton Orient are unlikely to be nervous coming into this round of matches, as they have been in excellent form throughout the season. They have recorded 13 wins from 28 matches in League One, and currently occupy the final playoff position. Orient have also won two of their last three matches in the league.

Man City and Leyton Orient will be clashing for the first time since a 2-2 draw in May 1966. However, City have a 100% record in previous FA Cup ties between the sides, with their latest win being recorded at the quarterfinal stage in March 1926.

Orient will be making their first appearance in the fourth round of the FA Cup since recording a shock 2-1 win over Swansea in the 2010-11 season. But, City’s dominant record against lower-ranked teams could be too strong to overlook.

The reigning Premier League champions have recorded wins in each of their last 17 matches in the FA Cup against sides from a lower division. Over that period, City have scored a staggering 67 goals, and they have conceded just eight. Their most recent win came in the third round when hitting Salford City for eight.

Leyton Orient vs. Man City Picks

There is hope that Orient will put up a decent display against City this weekend. However, for betting purposes, the away win looks challenging to oppose. Jeremy Doku could be an interesting prop selection after registering six goal involvements in seven appearances in the competition.
