Match Preview
Nottingham Forest continue to sit in a promising position to achieve an unlikely Champions League finish this season. However, questions can be asked of their recent form. The Tricky Trees have failed to win in their last four matches across all competitions in 90 minutes, and needed penalties to overcome Exeter City in the fourth round.
Ipswich’s poor run of form also continued in midweek as they were beaten at Old Trafford by Man United. The Tractor Boys look resigned to relegation at this stage of the season. But, it could be noted that their best performances this term have in fact come in the FA Cup.

Forest and Ipswich will be clashing in the FA Cup for the fourth time on Monday. The Tricky Trees have won each of the last two meetings, with the latest of those coming in the form of a 3-0 win in January 1997.
Ipswich have failed to win in their last 15 away matches against Forest across all competitions. Their latest win was achieved in December 1999. In fact, the Tractor Boys have already suffered defeat at the City Ground this season.
Ipswich will be playing in the fifth round of the FA Cup for the second time this century, but they haven’t reached the last eight since 1992-93. Forest have lost four of their last five ties in the fifth round of the competition.
Nottingham Forest vs. Ipswich Picks
Both Forest and Ipswich have poor records in the fifth round of the FA Cup. However, the head-to-head record could be the obvious angle to follow. Forest have won nine of the last 15 matches between the sides at the City Ground, and that trend looks good value to continue on Monday.
