Match Preview
Man City will be looking to keep alive their hopes of a second successive treble when they come up against Chelsea in the semi-finals of the FA Cup this week. The reigning Premier League champions have an excellent record against their rivals, as they have gone eight without defeat against the Blues. However, both previous meetings this term have ended in draws.
Chelsea’s record in this competition against City would be a massive concern. The Blues have been eliminated by City in five of the previous seven ties between the sides, which includes a third-round exit at the hands of their rivals last term. However, Chelsea did land a 1-0 success in the 2020-21 season against City at this stage of the competition.

Pep Guardiola has led City to an FA Cup semi-final for the seventh time in eight seasons. However, their record at this stage could be a slight concern this weekend, as the Spanish coach has only gained progression through to the next round in two of their previous six semi-finals.
Chelsea have appeared at this stage of the competition on the second-most occasions. In fact, only Man United have reached the final on more occasions. The Blues will be playing the 30th game at Wembley since it was re-opened in 2007, which is the most by any club in England.
Man City vs Chelsea Prediction
Something has clicked for Chelsea in recent weeks, and that ensures that this will be a good test on Saturday. But, we still struggle to overlook the prospect of City reaching a second straight FA Cup final this term.
