Game Preview
In their first game of the Leagues Cup, the Mexicans absolutely demolished St. Louis City. We sure thought that was going to be a close duel, but the MLS Western Conference leader couldn’t do anything against the richest club in Mexico.
“Las Aquilas” completely dominated the game, keeping the ball in their possession for nearly two-thirds of the time, and making almost two times more goal chances than the opposition. It’s needless to say that the captain Henry Martin showed up in that game, scoring a goal in his first Club America game since May.
Colombian winger Julian Quinones was fantastic in that game, scoring a goal and recording one assist. His Argentine colleague Leonardo Suarez was great as well, recording two assists. The USMNT midfielder Alejandro Zendejas also had a brilliant game, even though he spent less than half an hour on the field.
With these guys on the roster, Club America looks set to go really far. As “Las Aquilas” already have three points in the Leagues Cup, they’re gonna play in the knockouts no matter what. The only question is whether they’ll go there from the first or second spot. Well, it all depends on whether they win or lose against Columbus Crew.

The boys from Ohio need to be respected, especially for the fact that Monday’s game is played on their turf. At home, they’re really good, with an 8-3-1 home record in the MLS.
Club America vs. Columbus Crew Prediction
Club America has much, much better players than Columbus Crew. In fact, this could very well be the best team taking part in the Leagues Cup. That said, anything but an easy win for “Las Aquilas” would be a major surprise.
