What’s going on with the MLS’s most decorated club? Two and a half months into the 2023 season, Los Angeles Galaxy is sitting bottom of the Eastern Conference table with just 9 points collected from 12 games.
These guys need to pull themselves together ASAP but doing it against high-flying DC United won’t be easy. Especially not at Audi Field in Washington, which is where Saturday’s DC United vs LA Galaxy game is taking place.

Game Preview
DC United is occupying the No. 8 position in the Eastern Conference, but just a few weeks ago, Wayne Rooney’s team was sitting even higher in the standings. What happened was that DC United entered a disappointing run with two draws and a loss in the MLS.
It’s disappointing, but no one can say that it was surprising. After all, DC United played against three real heavyweights of the Eastern Conference – FC Cincinnati, Nashville SC, and Philadelphia Union – each of which is currently higher in the standings than them.
Speaking of standings, over in the Western Conference, the team that’s at the very bottom is Los Angeles Galaxy. This is surprising given the illustrious history of the club, but their performances in 2023 have been nothing short of horrible.

Greg Vanney’s team did manage to win two games so far, but only after taking a lot of risks. They went all-in against Austin FC and won 2-0 after making 18 goal attempts. They did something similar against San Jose, winning 2-1 after recording 17 attempts at the opposition goal.
If they want to get a good result on Saturday, they will have to go all-in once again. Unfortunately, this kind of strategy is bound to leave room for DC United’s counterattacks.
DC United vs Los Angeles Galaxy Prediction
It’s very likely that we’ll see Rooney’s boys letting LA Galaxy players have the ball in their possession most of the time. Meanwhile, they’re going to look for their chances from the break.
With Christian Benteke anchored far in the offense and pacey wingers on each side of him, DC United looks more than capable of making this plan come true. They’re going to score a few goals, we’re sure of that.
At the same time, we do think that it’s high time for Galaxy to start scoring more as well. That is why our top bet for this game is over 2.5 goals. When it comes to the match-winner market, if we had to pick one, we’d go with the home team.
