Game Preview
Los Angeles FC is really overdue for a win. The winners of last season’s MLS Cup lost each of their previous three games. It sure sounds bad, but there’s a caveat. The first of those losses happened in North Carolina against Charlotte who had an extra week to prepare for the duel.
Next, LAFC lost to Inter Miami at home, in a game in which Lionel Messi was brilliant for the Herons. Finally, they lost to the Portland Timbers last weekend, but there’s an explanation for that loss as well. The thing is that the boys from Los Angeles were without five of their first-team players who were away on international duty.

Among those was Denis Bouanga, a Gabonese forward who’s currently in the top 5 on the list of top scorers in the 2023 MLS. But he’s back, and so are the other four, meaning that Steve Cherundolo will be able to pick his best XI for El Trafico.
It’s a similar case when it comes to Los Angeles Galaxy, but the thing is that this team’s best players just aren’t as good as those playing for the reigning MLS champion.

Simply put, Los Angeles FC is a better team than its city rival. Plus, these guys have the motivation to finally break their losing streak. Our prediction for El Trafico is that the hosts will win, probably with a couple of goals in Galaxy’s net.
