Game Preview
Nashville SC is second in the East with 38 points in 22 games (an 11-5-6 record) and a score differential of 30-17. The boys from Tennessee aren’t in great form right now, with a 2-0-3 record in their last five games. However, there’s a caveat – all three of those losses happened on the road.
On their turf, they’ve got all wins since April. In fact, Nashville SC is one of the best home teams in the entire league. At Geodis Park in Nashville, these guys are 8-2-1, with 21 goals scored and only six conceded.

Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Union is one of the worst away sides in the East with just 11 points collected from 11 games on the road in 2023. Further, Philly is without a single away win since May.
Another problem for the Union is that its first-choice goalie Andre Blake is away at the Gold Cup with Jamaica, the same as defender Damion Lowe. On top of that, another defender Kai Wagner won’t play on July 12 due to an injury.
Nashville SC vs. Philadelphia Union Prediction
At home, Nashville SC has defeated some real heavyweights this season, including St. Louis City, Columbus Crew, and Atlanta United. We think they can do the same against out-of-form Philadelphia which is missing its starting goalkeeper and a couple of important defenders. That said, anything but a dominant win for the home team would be a huge surprise.
