The world of soccer was rocked last week after it was announced that Jurgen Klopp would be stepping down from his position as Liverpool manager. The German have overseen a period of success at Anfield, which included a first league title in 30 years. But, who do the odds suggest will be the next Liverpool boss?

A bombshell was dropped on European soccer last week after it was revealed that Jurgen Klopp would be leaving his position at Liverpool at the end of the 2023-24 season. The German has enjoyed an excellent stay at Anfield since joining the club in 2015. He won the Premier League title in 2018-19, ending Liverpool’s 30-year wait for a league title.
As well as that, Klopp led the club to Champions League glory and a further two Champions League finals. He also masterminded a domestic cup double in England in 2022, and has also picked up honors in the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.

The attention now turns to the man who will replace Klopp. Former Liverpool star Xabi Alonso is a preferred candidate among fans, having experienced huge success during his first stint in management with Bayer Leverkusen. The German club remains the only side in Europe’s top divisions that are yet to suffer a loss this term. However, it could be a risky appointment given Alonso’s lack of experience.
Robert De Zerbi is also among the front-runners, having enjoyed a lot of success since taking over at Brighton in 2022-23. However, the Seagulls boss may need another few years before taking a top job. Ruben Amorim is also linked to top jobs when they come up, as he has experienced major success with Sporting Lisbon since 2020, winning the Portuguese top-flight title in 2020-21.
Next Liverpool Manager Prediction
There are some interesting contenders in the betting given that many of the market-leaders lack value. An interesting selection could be Thomas Frank, who looks primed for a new challenge after ensuring Brentford’s most successful period in modern history.
