A pivotal week in the race for the Premier League title is set, with Liverpool facing huge challenges against Aston Villa, Man City, and Newcastle. It could present Arsenal with a chance to close the gap at the summit at a crucial stage. At present, the gap stands at seven points, with Arsenal winning each of their last three fixtures.

West Ham also come into this round of matches with pressure on their shoulders. The Hammers sit in an uneasy position in the league standings after losing three of their last four, and failing to win across that period. It would be a major concern for the Hammers that they have suffered more Premier League defeats against Arsenal than they have against any other side. Arsenal’s 37 wins also marks their best winning record against a single team in the history of the competition.

But, the Hammers did enjoy a rare victory in North London last season after recording a 2-0 win. However, West Ham haven’t recorded successive away victories against Arsenal since the 2006-07 season.
