Match Preview
Mikel Arteta will be without a number of first-team stars for the trip to the Vitality Stadium this weekend. Bukayo Saka is a doubt, while Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Martinelli are both out until the start of next month.
Despite that, a Gunners win on the south coast on Saturday would send them to the top of the Premier League standings. Arsenal come into the round after going seven without defeat this season, and winning each of their last two.
Bournemouth have caught the eye this season without necessarily picking up the points that their performances have deserved. But, a return to form will be required by the Cherries after losing three of their last four.

Bournemouth’s record against Arsenal is poor, having lost eleven of their 14 matches against the Gunners. In fact, the only points that they have won against the visitors have come in home matches. Their most recent point was secured following a 1-1 draw in December 2019.
The Cherries have also struggled against sides in the top half of the standings. Each of their last ten wins in the competition have come against sides in the bottom ten places.
Arsenal also come into the round in excellent unbeaten form, having avoided defeat in their opening ten matches in all competitions. They haven’t enjoyed a longer unbeaten sequence across all competitions since going 21 without defeat in the 2007-08 season.
Bournemouth vs. Arsenal Picks
Arteta will need to balance his team with a number of injuries to contend with this weekend. However, we still expect the Gunners to get over the line, with their defensive record likely to be the key factor to consider on Saturday.
