Game Preview
Brentford came away from Old Trafford with a 1-0 defeat but can take heart from a performance that stifled the home side for large periods. Having gone behind to Marcus Rashford’s first-half strike, Thomas Frank’s side rallied in the second half and could have snatched a point had it not been for a great save by David de Gea. The Bees’ form has dropped off over recent weeks though, and they will need to rediscover it if they are to challenge for a European place by the end of the season.

Newcastle’s form has been terrific of late, and their attacking prowess was on full display in their 1-5 victory over West Ham on Wednesday. Callum Wilson and Joelinton each bagged a brace of goals and the goalscoring was rounded off by the impressive Alexander Isak. With a fully fit squad, a great run of form, and a sense of belief amongst the supporters it seems as though Newcastle’s resurgence is here to stay.

Newcastle has been flawless since their cup final defeat to Man United. It seems that the focus on their one remaining goal has unified the team. Brentford can be pleased with their second season in the Premier League. Any European ambitions the Bees held should be ended here though.
