Match Preview
A new season has brought fresh hope at the Amex, as Brighton will have their sights set on achieving only a second campaign in Europe. The Seagulls come into the round sitting fifth in the standings, but a victory on Friday would see them move up to second.
Brighton have won two of their last three matches, and they have suffered just a single defeat across their last five. The Seagulls maintained their excellent form in the previous round of matches after landing a 2-1 success against Bournemouth, despite being down to ten men for much of the second half.

It has been a contrasting season for Russell Martin and his Southampton side. The Saints come into the 13th round of matches sitting bottom of the standings, and there is already a five-point difference between themselves and survival. To make matters worse, Southampton have lost four of their last five.
A second consecutive defeat was self-inflicted by the Saints last weekend, as they effectively gave Liverpool three goals in a poor defensive display at St. Mary’s. If they are to have any chance of staying in the top-flight, they will need to improve their defensive record, which is already the second-worst in the Premier League at this stage.
