Match Preview
An interesting clash in the Premier League is set for this weekend, as Newcastle and Ipswich collide with both sides chasing a second straight win in the competition.
Ipswich would have gained huge confidence from their recent outing, as they claimed an important victory in a must-win encounter against Wolves at Molineux. The victory eased Ipswich’s position in the Premier League standings, and means that they are now two points from safety.
Jack Taylor scored the dramatic winner in the West Midlands, with his effort hitting the back of the net in the fourth minute of second half injury time.

Newcastle also ended their winless sequence with a fine victory last weekend after scoring four at home to Leicester. Jacob Murphy netted a brace in the fixture, with Alexander Isak and Bruno Guimaraes also finding the back of the net against the Foxes.
The victory was their biggest top-flight with over Leicester since 1909, with Alexander Isak netting in three straight Premier League matches for the second time this season. His record has now seen him register 17 goal involvements in 14 league appearances at St. James’ Park in 2024.
This will be the first meeting between the sides since a Championship match was won by the Tractor Boys in April 2017. However, that win remains the only success that Ipswich have recorded in their last three against the Magpies.
