That victory means that the Reds remain unbeaten on the road this season, and they have suffered just one defeat in 27 matches.

Newcastle bounced back to form over the weekend after recording a dramatic 4-3 win against Nottingham Forest. The success ended a two-match losing sequence, and means that they are now level on points with fourth-placed Man City, and just three behind Nottingham Forest.

Newcastle’s record against Liverpool deserves extra attention this week. The Magpies have failed to win in their last 28 league visits to Anfield, and have picked up just five points across that period. Newcastle have also failed to win in their last 16 EPL matches against the Reds.
