Match Preview
Life back in the top-flight will be an eye-opening experience for Ipswich. Following their showdown against Liverpool last weekend, the Tractor Boys are on the road for the first time this term on Saturday when they come up against the defending champions. Man City made a typically professional start to the campaign last Sunday, claiming a straightforward 2-0 away win against Chelsea.
This will be the first time that these sides have collided in any competition since January 2002. On that occasion, City landed a 4-1 victory at Portman Road in the FA Cup. However, this will be the first Premier League meeting between the sides since the Tractor Boys landed a 2-1 success in the 2000-01 season.

Ipswich will be traveling to the Etihad for the first time this weekend, but they won on their final two visits to Maine Road. The latest of those was a 2-1 success in the League Cup in December 2000. However, City’s record against newly promoted sides is extremely dominant in recent history after winning seven of their last 18.
The Tractor Boys have failed to score in their last seven away matches against the top-flight champions. They have lost their last three by an aggregate scoreline of 15-0. Their last goals against the reigning champions on the road were netted way back in April 1984 when claiming a 2-2 draw against Liverpool.
