Liverpool have dropped points in two of their last three Premier League matches, meaning that they hold an eight-point advantage at the summit having played a game more than Arsenal. The Gunners could close the gap at the summit to five points with a win on Saturday before the Reds take to the field. Despite dropping points in recent weeks, Liverpool have suffered just one defeat in 26 Premier League outings this term.
Man City have failed to recapture the magic from the previous four seasons in 2024-25, as they have quickly faded away in the title race. City have won three of their last four matches, which at least provides confidence that they should have enough to finish in a Champions League spots. But, they were firmly put in their place in midweek by Real Madrid after losing 3-1 in the Spanish capital.

The head-to-head trends support the chances of a City win this weekend, as they have lost just once in their last 15 home matches against Liverpool. That loss was suffered back in November 2015. Overall, City have won eight of the 15 head-to-head clashes between the sides.
Liverpool landed a 2-0 win in the reverse fixture this term, but they haven’t completed a double over the champions since 2015-16. The Reds also sport a dominant record in matches played on a Sunday, winning eleven of their last 13, and scoring multiple goals in each of the wins that they have recorded.
