Match Preview
Pep Guardiola will be aware that his side faces a huge challenge if they are to retain their Premier League title this term. Man City’s form has dipped considerably at the start of the new season, and they could already have too much to do to track down Liverpool at the summit.
The champions have endured a miserable run of results throughout October and November, but things appeared to be improving at the start of the current month after seeing off Nottingham Forest at the Etihad.
However, that appears to have been a false dawn based on their poor performance at Selhurst Park last weekend when playing out a 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace.

Ruben Amorim has also faced a rude awakening in the hot seat at Old Trafford in recent weeks, as Man United have fallen back into old ways after losing two on the bounce.
While positives could have been taken from their defensive approach against Arsenal, there wasn’t anything worth celebrating in United’s recent defeat at home against Nottingham Forest. Andre Onana made two shocking errors to cost his side, and the defeat now leaves United sitting 13th in the standings.
City have won their last two matches in the league against United, which includes a 3-1 success in this fixture last season. The Red Devils haven’t won at the Etihad since March 2021, and they have conceded 13 goals on their last three visits.
Man City vs. Man United Picks
The defensive records of both of these sides mean that goals should be assured at the Etihad on Sunday. However, City’s better talent in the final third means that they will be hard to overlook in terms of a match winner.
