Match Preview
Despite the implosion of their form, Man City remain hot favorites to bounce back to winning ways when Nottingham Forest visit the Etihad on Wednesday. City come into this midweek round of matches sitting fifth in the Premier League standings, and they have failed to win in their last seven matches.
Nottingham Forest won’t have a problem with being the outsiders, as they have already upset the odds at Anfield this season. The Tricky Trees ended a run of two successive defeats in their previous outing, as Chris Wood netted the winner from the penalty spot against Ipswich on Saturday.

City have dominated the recent encounters between the sides, avoiding defeat in each of the last eight since a 3-2 home defeat in the second tier of English soccer back in December 1997. Forest have also conceded 12 goals without scoring on their last two Premier League trips to the Etihad.
Forest’s poor away record against defending champions also deserves special attention this week. They have lost on each of their last five trips to the reigning champions, conceding a total of 21 goals and scoring just twice.
City’s winless run stands at seven matches, but they have avoided defeat in each of their last 31 midweek matches in the Premier League at the Etihad. Over that period, they have recorded victories in each of their last 20.
Man City vs. Nottingham Forest Picks
Forest have the counter-attacking players to pose a question of City this week, and they are slightly too big at the odds available. Therefore, based on the form of both sides, it could be worth chancing the Tricky Trees on the spread.
