Match Preview
Arsenal have spent big throughout the summer, as Mikel Arteta looks to build a squad that is capable of going one better than last term. The Gunners faded in the final two months of the 2022-23 season, as they handed the Premier League title to Man City. However, Arsenal has added quality throughout the summer, with new additions Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, and Jurrien Timber all playing a part in the club’s Community Shield victory over City on Sunday.
The Gunners showed their character to level the scores in the 111th minute at Wembley, with Leandro Trossard finding a way through to send the match to penalties. Arsenal kept their cool from the spot to end their pre-season campaign with the first piece of silverware on offer in the 2023-24 campaign. But, that win will count for very little if they are beaten in their opening match of the new season.

Nottingham Forest enjoyed a solid return to the top-flight last term, as they maintained their top-flight status after finishing 16th in the overall standings. Their place in the Premier League was assured with a victory over Arsenal at the City Ground. However, improving on that finish is now the task for Steve Cooper this term.
It has been a more reserved summer of spending from the club this term, but they have added proven Premier League quality players in the form of Anthony Elanga and Chris Wood from Manchester United and Newcastle, respectively. But, their main goal once again will be to maintain their place in the top-flight.

Forest landed a 1-0 win in the previous clash between the sides, but they are without an away league win against the Gunners since March 1989. Therefore, we expect Arsenal to kick off the season with a commanding victory in front of their home fans.
