Match Preview

It has been a challenging period for Aston Villa, as they are coming under pressure for the first time this term. Unai Emery’s side have lost two of their last five league matches, and they were humbled in front of their home fans in the FA Cup in midweek after losing 3-1 against Chelsea. Their once-reliable home form is looking suspicious at this point.

Man United appear to have turned a corner in their season after winning each of their last two in the Premier League. The Red Devils have scored seven goals across those matches, with three of those coming in a straightforward 3-0 success against West Ham United last weekend.

Villa picked up a 3-1 victory in this fixture last term, which ended their 23-game winless run against United at home in the Premier League. However, the West Midlands side haven’t recorded back-to-back home wins against the Red Devils since 1977. United have also won 17 of their 28 away league matches against the Villa.

Villa’s home record has transformed since the start of 2024. After winning 15 on the bounce between March and December, they have now won just once in their last three. United’s record in February is staggering; they have not lost in 24 matches in the calendar month since a 1-0 loss at Newcastle under Jose Mourinho in 2018.

Aston Villa vs Man United Prediction

Villa can’t be as bad as they were in midweek on Sunday, meaning a close game is likely. However, United look to be the value angle in the odds available, as they boast a staggering record in the month of February.
