Match Preview

It has been all change at Bournemouth this summer, as the club have made the brave decision to appoint Andoni Iraola. The decision appears a gamble after the Cherries ship was settled under O’Neill last term as they were able to secure their Premier League status. However, the owners have their sights set on greater targets than just safety this term, and the new boss has been backed throughout the summer.

Over $50 million has been spent by the club, with the standout arrival coming in the form of Hamed Traore from Sassuolo. Justin Kluivert also joined the team from AS Roma, which shows that the club have enhanced their options in the final third of the pitch for the season ahead.

The same can’t be said of West Ham, who remain the only Premier League side yet to make a first-team signing this summer. West Ham have money to spend following the sale of Declan Rice to Arsenal for a British-record fee. New names will be brought in before the transfer deadline, with the Hammers closing in on the signing of Edson Alvarez.

David Moyes is also keen on two Man United stars, and moves for Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay could materialize before the deadline. However, the club will be hopeful of building on a solid end to the season, which saw them claim success in the Europa Conference League to end their long wait for a major piece of silverware.

Bournemouth vs West Ham Prediction

West Ham are unbeaten in four matches against the Cherries. However, Bournemouth has won two of the last five between the sides at Dean Court. Therefore, we will be siding with Bournemouth landing an opening day victory over the Hammers.
