Man City’s pursuit of history continues on Monday as Pep Guardiola’s side goes in search of a fifth straight win in the Premier League. City have won each of their last four matches, and they currently sit five points off the top of the standings with a game in hand over Liverpool.
City’s dominant run continued in midweek, as they eased to a 3-1 home success against Burnley. Julian Alvarez netted twice in the success, but it would be alarming to the rest of the league that both Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland featured in that win. De Bruyne set up Alvarez’s second goal, meaning that he has now recorded 104 assists in the league, reaching third in the all-time standings.

Brentford remain toward the bottom of the table, but their performances have certainly improved since the return of Ivan Toney. The striker has netted twice in two games since returning from his ban, but his effort against Tottenham counted for little after the Bees were edged out in North London.
That result means that Brentford are still four points clear of the drop zone, but they have claimed just one victory in their last five league outings. The Bees claimed a 1-0 win in this exact fixture last season, which was their second straight victory against the reigning champions after recording a 2-1 success at the Etihad in November 2022.

This should be an entertaining clash in the Premier League, with both sides showing excellent quality in the final third. However, we still expect the champions to claim maximum points, but value could be found in the both teams to score market.
