Match Preview

Many experts predicted that Burnley would be the best-performing promoted side in the Premier League this term, but the impressive winners of the Championship from last season have struggled. The Clarets sit in the bottom three positions, and they are five points adrift of safety at present. They come into this week after going three without a win.

Fulham’s recent form doesn’t look much better on paper, as the Cottagers have dropped down the standings after losing four of their last five. That leaves them sitting 13th in the table, but a return to form could put them back on course for a top half finish once again this term. However, they will be wary of getting dragged into the scrap at the bottom of the standings.

Burnley’s record should give them great confidence coming into this weekend, as the Clarets have won each of their last two against the Cottagers. Meanwhile, they are unbeaten in five matches against Fulham across all competitions. Over that period, they have recorded four wins, with the only draw being played out in February 2021.

Fulham’s only win in their last five against the Clarets was picked up at home in August 2018. In fact, the Cottagers haven’t picked up an away win against Burnley since landing a 2-0 victory in April 1951. That means that they are winless in 33 visits to Turf Moor across all competitions.

Burnley vs Fulham Prediction

Fulham have struggled for away wins against Burnley throughout their history, and that could be a key trend to consider ahead of this weekend. It is a must-win for the Clarets, and we expect them to land maximum points.
