Match Preview
There will be eyes on both ends of the Premier League standings on Boxing Day at Turf Moor, as Liverpool bid to enhance their title prospects in 2023-24. The Reds could sit top by the time that they take to the field on Tuesday, but they will need to claim a home win over Arsenal in order to achieve that. Confidence returned to the team in a 5-1 EFL Cup win over West Ham in midweek, with Mohamed Salah among the scorers.
Confidence is something that Burnley are short of, as the Clarets have sat in the bottom three places in the standings since the opening day. Burnley have won just twice all term, which is the joint-fewest of all sides in the Premier League. But, Vincent Kompany will be hopeful of causing a seismic shock in the division on Tuesday.

Liverpool boasts an incredibly strong record in this fixture after winning 12 of the 16 meetings between these sides in the league since 2009. That includes victories in each of the last three without conceding a goal. Liverpool’s most recent trip to Turf Moor ended in a 1-0 success in February 2022.
Burnley will be the huge outsiders to claim victory on Tuesday, and their chances will not be helped based on the fact that they have won just once in the last nine clashes with Liverpool. Their only win was at Anfield in January 2021, and they are without a home success against the Reds since a 1-0 success in the FA Cup in 2005.
Burnley vs Liverpool Prediction
Burnley have been outclassed in the Premier League throughout the first half of the campaign. We expect them to find this test too challenging once again on Tuesday, meaning we expect Liverpool to claim a straightforward win on the road.
