Match Preview

It has been a challenging start to the Premier League season for Luton Town, as they already sit bottom of the standings after falling to four straight defeats to start the new campaign. They have scored just two goals, and have conceded on ten occasions across the opening month.

Defeat against Fulham last weekend saw Luton become only the second team to lose each of their opening four as a Premier League side. Meanwhile, it is only the fourth time in the club’s history that they have started the season with four successive defeats. The Hatters are also winless in their last seven league matches against Wolves.

Things appeared to be improving for Wolves after recording a first league victory of the season against Everton. However, that solid performance has been followed by back-to-back defeats. It is the third time in the club’s history that they have lost four of their opening five matches, having previously endured that start in 2021-22.

Wolves boast an excellent record in this fixture, as they have gone seven without defeat against the Hatters. Over that period, they have recorded four wins and three draws. That includes a victory in the most recent fixture between the sides in March 2007 at Kenilworth Road.

Luton vs Wolves Prediction

Luton have looked outclassed in their opening fixtures this term, and a huge response will be needed this weekend. However, there was enough to like about the Wolves performance against Liverpool last weekend to suggest that they should cruise to maximum points on Saturday.
