Man City have returned to form in the Premier League since returning from the Club World Cup in Saudi Arabia. Pep Guardiola’s side have now won three of their last four matches in the top-flight, which includes wins in each of their last two. City also faced few issues in progressing in the FA Cup after defeating Huddersfield Town 5-0 last weekend.
The reigning champions battled to victory in their last league match, registering a 2-0 home success against Sheffield United on December 30. Julian Alvarez continued to fill the void left by Erling Haaland, but the Norwegian striker could be nearing his return to the team.

Questions are beginning to be asked of Eddie Howe, as the English coach has seen his side lose each of their last three in the Premier League. That run of form has seen the Magpies drop to ninth in the standings, and another defeat this weekend could see them drop into the bottom half of the league table by the end of the round.
Newcastle at least bounced back to winning ways in the FA Cup last weekend, as they recorded a 3-0 success over local rivals Sunderland in the third round. However, a much better performance will be required in the league when they return to action on Saturday.
