Match Preview
Sheffield United achieved promotion from the Championship last season, but they are currently favored to return to the second tier this term. The Blades finished second in the second tier, but promotion was assured with over a week of the campaign remaining. However, it has been a strange summer at Bramall Lane, as they come into the Premier League campaign weaker than they were at the end of last term.
Top scorer Iiman Ndiaye has already departed the club for Marseille, while Sander Berge is expected to complete his move to Burnley before the opening weekend. The Blades have also opted against renewing the loans of James McAtee and Tommy Doyle, who both ranked in the top five in terms of chances created last season. It could be a testing opening to the season for Paul Heckinbottom’s side.

Roy Hodgson’s retirement didn’t even last 12 months before Palace came calling to re-appoint their former coach. The former England boss was called in to rescue the club from relegation, and he guided the Eagles away from the drop zone to eventually finish eleventh in the overall standings.
Palace have allowed Wilfried Zaha to leave the club this summer, but they look well-stocked in the final third with both Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise being standout players last term. Jefferson Lerma adds further depth in the middle of the park, while Matheus Franca could be one of the young stars to watch in the Premier League this season.
Sheffield United vs Crystal Palace Prediction
It’s hard to be too optimistic about the Blades following a strange summer of transfer activity. Palace have won their last two against United, and we expect a third straight victory to be recorded in Yorkshire this weekend.
