Match Preview
Chelsea will be the shortest price of any side in the Premier League this week on the moneyline. The Blues have enjoyed an excellent start to life under Enzo Maresca, and they could potentially end the round as high as second in the standings.
Chelsea have been in excellent recent form, winning each of their last two, and avoiding defeat in their previous five since a defeat against Liverpool. However, Maresca has been quick to shut down any talk surrounding the Blues and a potential title challenge this term.
Southampton will have their sights set on Premier League survival this season, but they already find themselves cast adrift by four points after winning just once in their opening 13 matches.

The Saints could have considered themselves very unlucky in the previous round, as they were denied a winner against Brighton following a lengthy VAR intervention. Still, a point would have given the players confidence.
Southampton come into this match with a solid recent record against Chelsea, having won each of the last two meetings between the teams. However, the Saints haven’t won three in succession against the Blues since 1985.
St. Mary’s has been a good ground for Chelsea throughout Premier League history, as they have only recorded more wins away from home against Tottenham. Furthermore, the Blues have scored in each of their last 18 away matches against Southampton.
Southampton vs. Chelsea Picks
Southampton showed their fighting qualities in a draw against Brighton last week, but it is incredibly hard to make a case for the Saints on Wednesday. Chelsea come into the midweek round in red-hot form, and we could see their attacking players shining at St. Mary’s this week.
