Match Preview
A massive fixture at the bottom of the Premier League standings is set for this weekend, as Wolves host Ipswich. Both sides come into this round of matches after losing three on the bounce, and they are four points adrift from safety at this stage.
The pressure is mounting on Gary O’Neil following a poor run of results for Wolves, with the West Midlands club most recently suffering a 2-1 defeat on the road at West Ham. Despite popular belief, the club haven’t dismissed the Englishman immediately.
Ipswich continue to keep faith with their style of play, with Kieran McKenna remaining confident in the players that gained promotion from the Championship last term. However, the Tractor Boys have now lost three on the bounce.

Wolves have a positive head-to-head record against the Tractor Boys, having gone seven without defeat in league matches against their opponents. Furthermore, the Midlands side have managed to keep clean sheets in each of their last five.
This weekend’s clash will be the first Premier League meeting between the sides, and the first top-flight meeting since Ipswich landed a 3-0 away victory in April 1984.
Wolves will need to improve defensively if they are to maintain their top-flight status this term. They have already conceded 34 home goals in 16 matches this calendar year, with only Leeds conceding more in 2022.
Wolves vs. Ipswich Picks
This is a challenging fixture to digest, as both teams will have a desperate need to pick up maximum points. However, Ipswich’s performances haven’t reflected the points that they have picked up, and this weekend could present them with an excellent opportunity.
