Game Preview
The Sounders met Cruz Azul this Wednesday night in the CONCACAF Champions Cup, playing without a goal in this event. After losing to Real Salt Lake, 2-0, this is the second meeting in a row in which Seattle didn’t score.
After a preseason filled with goals, this was an unpleasant surprise for all the Seattle fans. They’ve landed Jesus Ferreira and Paul Arriola from FC Dallas, the lethal striking duo, which woked fine until now.
LAFC has four wins in a row and looks extremely good. Their defense has been at the highest possible level so far, posting four clean sheets in a row—now that’s rarely seen in North American soccer.
FC trashed the Columbus Crew in the CCC, 3-0, Denis Bouanga netting a brace and Nathan Ordaz adding a goal as well.
Team News & Lineups
Reed Baker Whiting is injured for the Sounders.
Dellavalle is out, as well as Chanot. Odin Holm is questionable.
