New Zealand will be looking to get their World Cup campaign off to the best possible start on Thursday, as they welcome Norway to Eden Park on matchday one. The opening match of the tournament will see the host nation as the huge outsiders to land victory, but they will have a passionate home support behind them as they chase victory.
This will be New Zealand’s fifth straight appearance at the tournament, but they are still chasing a first victory at the World Cup. They have gone 15 matches without a win at the tournament, while they are the only team to have made more than five appearances at the tournament without having reached the knockout stage.
