Match Preview

The pressure will be back on Brazil when World Cup qualification resumes in the South America region this week. The most famous team in World Cup history are under threat of missing out on a place in the tournament in 2026 after losing four of their eight qualifiers to this point.

Furthermore, they come into this round of matches in poor form in qualifying after losing four of their last five. Their most recent defeat was suffered at the hands of Paraguay in the most recent international break.

Brazil’s poor run of results also dates back to the Copa America in the summer, as they failed to progress further than the quarterfinal stage after being dumped out by Uruguay.

Chile have missed out on competing in the last two World Cups, with their most recent showing at the tournament coming in 2014 when reaching the round of 16.

However, they look unlikely to make the competition once again in 2026. Chile have won just one of their opening eight matches in qualification, losing a staggering five times. Scoring goals has been a major issue, as they have netted just four times.

Chile vs. Brazil Picks

Brazil’s issues on the pitch have been well documented, and they will be without a number of key stars for this showdown. However, given the struggles endured by Chile, it could be worth siding with the visiting Brazilians to gain maximum points in qualification.
