Daniil Medvedev vs. Carlos Alcaraz Preview
Medvedev didn’t have too much trouble against Flavio Cobolli, whom he defeated in straight sets in the quarterfinals. It was 6-2, 6-4 for the Russian player, who had five aces but four double faults as well.
After three consecutive losses, one at the US Open quarterfinals and two in the Laver Cup, Daniil has now won three in a row, all in straight sets. Apart from Cobolli, his victims were Monfils and Mannarino.
Acaraz also beat his rival in the quarterfinals 2-0, but he had a tougher experience. He had to go through a demanding first set with Karen Khachanov, 7-5, before breaking the other Russian player in the second set, 6-2.
The Spaniard was very aggressive on Khachanov’s second serve, winning 62% of points, which is impressive even against weaker rivals. In the end, he had 26 winners and 27 unforced errors, something he needs to improve.
Daniil Medvedev vs. Carlos Alcaraz Head to Head
These two guys met seven times. Alcaraz leads 5-2, and has three straight wins, two of them this year. The first was in the finals of the ATP Masters in Indian Wells, 2-0, and then in the semis of Roland Garros, 3-1.
Daniil Medvedev vs. Carlos Alcaras Predictions
Alcaraz was impatient against Khachanov, but overall, he was a better player on the court. Medvedev’s form is on the rise, yet not stable, and that’s why we believe in Carlitos’ triumph.
