Preview
The first of the women’s quarterfinals on Wednesday will see Ons Jabeur and Beatriz Maddad Maia clash. Jabeur is a player that we have already singled out for Wimbledon glory, and her run to this stage of the French Open has been a little bit of a shock. However, she has dropped just one set in four outings at Roland Garros, and cruised to a dominant win in the previous round against American player Bernarda Pera.
Haddad Maia was one of our outside picks for Wimbledon last year, and the Brazilian’s run to this stage is a huge shock. However, she has battled through every test to this point, and looked incredibly strong when winning in straight sets against a tough opponent in the previous round. But, we will be siding with Jabeur landing victory on Wednesday.

Preview
The standout quarterfinal in the women’s draw comes in the form of Iga Swiatek’s clash with Coco Gauff. The Pole beat Gauff in straight sets in the final 12 months ago, and she has looked formidable to this stage of the competition this year. She is yet to drop a set in four outings, and has dropped just nine games. Swiatek eased through to this stage earlier in the week with a walkover win over Lesia Tsurenko.
Gauff would have taken enormous positives from her run to the final last year, and she will be aware that victory on Wednesday could put her on course for another attempt for Grand Slam glory. The American has dropped two games in four outings, and fought through with a dominant win in the previous round. However, we find it challenging to overlook Swiatek, given that she has recorded wins in all six previous showdowns.
