Game Preview
The 19-year-old Mensik is a Djokovic fan, and he isn’t hiding that. He loves Nole, but in this contest, there won’t be sympathy for the GOAT. Mensik had a tough path to the finals. He would eliminate the Indian Wells winner, Jack Draper, in the first round, and then Roman Safiulin walked over in the third round because Tomas Machac didn’t play.
Later on, he beat Arthur Fils and, finally, Taylor Fritz in the semis. It was the only time he lost a set, in a grueling two-and-a-half hour battle that saw two tie breaks and just one break point.
Djokovic was furious against Dimitrov, though the Bulgarian hurt himself in this one. He made 32 unforced errors, while Novak posted only 5. In the end, it was 2-0 for Nole, 6-3, 6-2, for his 13th win over Dimitrov.
Let’s remember that Djokovic didn’t drop a single set in Miami, beating Hijikata, Ugo Carabelli, Lorenzo Musetti, and Sebastian Korda before his semifinals against Dimitrov.

The two met some five months ago at the Shanghai Masters, where Djokovic won 2-1, 6-7, 6-1, 6-4. It was their sole match until this point.
